The Beauty of the Public Domain

Talking about a pretty sick platform fighter in development.

Hey, It's been some week, huh… I’m going to make this article short so I can keep working on Doverplum, but there’s this project that I’ve been keeping an eye on that should be talked about.

Everyone knows that copyright laws kind of suck. At first it was to protect creative works, but it seems to me anyway that now copyright laws are only used to let companies hold on to IPs for as long as they can. Heck, even certain companies try lobbying governments to push the copyright expiration date farther and farther.

Well, I just want to take the time to show a project that really shows what you can do when you don’t have to keep hoarding IPs for nearly a century.

It’s called Reality Free-For-Fall, by AAAA Games. A platform fighter currently in development that features characters in the public domain. Characters such as Lancelot, Dorothy from The Oz Books, Oliver Twist, and others. I saw this game 2 months ago on Instagram and thought it was such a breath of fresh air.

I know a ton of projects that use public domain characters in creative ways. Projects like RFFF should get a lot more attention rather than some hack two-bit horror film just to get their two seconds of fame.

This game has a Kickstarter. So, go to the link below and help get this game made. Hey, it's better than another horror film.

Stay tuned next week; I've got something cooking for Doverplum. Until Next Time…
